9/11 That damn day...

I turned back ...for an instant my mind was back to that day...that damned 9/11...I have seen people with despair in the heart jumping from the windows...the horror...screaming...and the plane full of other lives, it slipped in the other tower, like a knife in a stick of butter...a ferocious knife entered in the hearts of everyone upset and signaled to us ... our lives ...which forever will have as a reference: before 9/11 and after the attack on the towers.

That pain, today, turns into a strange silence...a vibration that is felt in the air...Whenever I am in that place, I feel a strange energy, is as if the area near Ground Zero was still populated by those 3000 victims... Christopher, James, Robert, Paul, Melissa, Diana, etc...they live in the stories of their friends, their family members.

I have heard a lot stories in recent months...and everytime is the same feeling...I shiver and I feel incredibly close to the person who tells me, with the same intimacy which speaks of an episode like personal to a relative, the damn day that their loved one ripped off...

Al and Maureen struck me particularly, they have lost Christopher, one of their children, 23 years and a life ahead...before that horrible monster called Bin Laden, you take it away, along with that of many other innocents...

Christopher Santora had Italian origins, Neapolitan, and as the father Al, was a firefighter, had not to work that morning, he replaced a friend...and never again back at home...his mother, in her first day retirement, after so many years of working as a teacher in a school, never again failed to embrace his son, that son...full of energy that filled her with joy and with his Italian temperament that house...today is that quiet and empty...

I don’t need to add anymore ... my thoughts today go to Christopher and all those young and old who have quit for ten years to live their homes ... to enjoy their loved ones to run the ... their thoughts ... their dreams ... their lives ...

A special thought goes also to Oriana Fallaci, who told us harshly and truth that damn day ... "The Rage and the Pride"
